Sept. 2011-- mini gathering to do planning for 2012

Suggested date: third weekend of May? Thurs. May 17 - Sun. May 20

Second choice: first weekend of May?

Suggested location: Russian River? (hang close to home, low cost, and visit to Loie's home)

Suggestion for 2013: Mexico? (higher cost, big adventure?)

(Notes from Laguna Beach gathering of Sharon, Karen, Jeanne and Anne in Sept. 2011-- we met at a resort near a golf course.)

Why did we meet?  Were we transitioning from spring to fall gatherings?

Note: We did indeed meet near Point Reyes and visit Loie's new home in 2012.

2010 Palm Springs

We met in Palm Springs at a home with a wonderful pool in May, 2010.

All present and accounted for!

Sharon introduced the topic of aging and how we are all coping with it.  The rest of us were not very responsive to this topic.

Another issue raised by Sharon: technology and the presence of computers distracting us from our time together.  Too much time spent online?

Karen had a big confession to make: a new relationship with a man named Steve, whom she had met in November 2009.

Sharon had introduced them as potential climbing partners.  Yes, indeed!

2009 Sea Ranch, Mendocino

We met at Sea Ranch in Mendocino.  Loie arranged it with her university.

Jeanne filmed some of our antics.

Anne was missing.

2008 Wisconsin at Loie's House

We flew to Minneapolis and drove into Wisconsin to visit Loie's family summer home on a lake in late May.  

We went canoeing and cooked wonderful meals.

We visited an island where we ate at a wonderful restaurant.

Everyone was present!

Karen and Joanne were talking in the airport and missed their connecting flight to Minneapolis--had to catch up to the group.  Embarrassing for these highly competent women.

2007 ???

Where were we?  What did we do?

Was it a year when we switched from fall to spring?

Joanne and Jeanne joined Anne at the Telluride Film Festival.  Jeanne volunteered at it.

2006 Harrisonburg, Virginia

We flew east to stay at Barbra's home in Harrisonburg.

She had carefully prepared jams and foods to make hosting us easier after her recovery from her brain injury in 2003.

We hiked in Shenandoah National Park--so beautiful in the fall!

Jeanne and Joanne didn't make it to Virginia.

2005 Catalina

We stayed at Joanne's house and then took the ferry to Santa Catalina Island.
