1991 Rosarito

We gathered in the fall at Ruthie's condo.

Anne's nephew Evan McColl was born Oct. 30, 1991, while we were together.

The year of nicknames: Jo Butt, Lo Butt, and No butt.  Also Bubble Butt (Barbra).  Jeanne had walked out of house to find everyone sunbathing on tummies, butt up.

We stayed at a wonderful beach house, had lobster at a restaurant with mariachi music in Puerto Nuevo, and watched horses running on the beach.

Joyful time!  Did we do this in late spring or early fall?

Joanne turned 40 in 1990.

Barbra's memories started in 1991, but she didn't report them to SW7 yet.

1990 Palos Verdes Estates???

Was this a year when we were at Sharon's home?

We did some dancing to bless her new home.

We went out to see Sex, Lies, and Videotapes.  We discussed the issues in depth afterwards.

Loie was sick and didn't go to the film, felt left out of the discussion.

1989 Karen's Cabin??

Were we at Karen's cabin in 1989?

Some sleeping outside?  Karen cooked mole?

1988 Sedona

We stayed in Oak Creek Canyon.  We hiked in the canyon and Jeanne got a bee sting.  Jeanne had rented a nice car but backed it into a post in the parking area.  Sharon had a red convertible.

We had magaritas in Sedona and walked around shopping.

We did a ritual up on the red rocks above town.

"What do you think about Jesus?" asked Jeanne.  

This opened a long discussion.

Jeanne said just before she drove off at the end of the weekend, "I might marry Frank."

1987 - Santa Fe

Our first trip together: Karen, Loie, Sharon, Jeanne, Barbra.

Fall 1987.

Missing: Anne and Joanne. (Anne had had a baby in May...)

At one point in a canyon on a hike all had painted faces and were doing a ritual.

Another hiker and his wife came up the trail.

He asked, "Are you going to tie me to a stake?"

"Well, if that's what you need," answered Sharon.

1986 - Camp Colby, Angeles Forest

The Southwest chapter of EWC held a weekend conference, "Women in Power," at Camp Colby in the Angeles National Forest.

Karen's talk about women & power issues at Fuller set us going--we were going to meet monthly and change the evangelical world.
